| Other
differencies include: SVDS' top cover on the receiver
is made from 1mm thick steel (instead of 0.7mm on SVD);
gas piston diameter is 9.5mm (instead of 10.5mm on SVD);

BRITISH & EUROPEAN MARKET: Deactivated SVD (MMG )& SVDS (MMG) Dragunov sniping rifles have gained a Type approval by the Russian authorities, member of CIP. It carries the CIP mark of the International Proof Commission and modification of its parts excludes any possibility of converting them into active firearms. European Proof House Certificate No: RU.MZh 03 B00479. This type of deactivated weapons does NOT require the UK proof marks, due to its compliance with European Weapons Directive 91/477 EEC Annex III (a): For the purposes of this Annex objects which corresponds to the definition of a 'firearm' shall not be included in that definition if they: (a) have been rendered permanently unfit for use by the application of technical procedures which are guaranteed by an official body or recognised by such a body. In this case, this body is the Russian Proof Authority, member of CIP. As for the latest Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006, 'deactivated firearms and antique imitations (such as old dummy rifles used for drill practice) are expressly excluded from the definition of realistic imitation firearm and are therefore not affected by the new offence either'. FSU Connections takes full responsibility for the safe shipping of deactivated weapons to any European country, which is a member of CIP (see below). All goods are insured and Credit Card payments are welcome
USA
MARKET: Due to the fact that deactivated rifles have
a real receiver (gun part banned from importation into the US), we
do not sell deacts to the US
FOREIGN
PROOF MARKS: Prior to June
1980, there was reciprocal agreement for recognition of certain
foreign proof marks, by international accord. At that time the United
Kingdom became a signatory member of the International Proof Commission
(C.I.P.), Secretariat, at the Belgian Proof House, Liege. Since
then the United Kingdom has recognised all the proof marks of the
other member nations and, reciprocally, they all recognise UK marks.
The C.I.P. has been working since 1914 for the standardisation of
proof, which also involves standardisation of pressure measurements,
of chamber and bore sizes and cartridge dimensions. Currently its
members are: Austria, Belgium, Chile, France,
Germany, Hungary, Italy, Russia, Spain, Finland and the United Kingdom
It is illegal to own
